ABOUT

Elevation 2005, the third annual Mammoth Gay Ski Week, is going to be bigger, better, faster, stronger. Last year, Elevation doubled in size, and this year we will continue to grow with amazing speed, and bring more than 1200 riders to the Sierras. All of those riders will be coming for 5 days of après-ski events, night-time events and the best spring skiing and snowboarding in North America.

A (very brief) serious moment. In these divided times (and in this divided country), events that bring people together in a spirit of celebration and diversity and fun are even more important. Elevation is an alternative to the traditional party scene – yes, we have big parties, but it’s also about the best boarding and spring skiing in the country in one of the most beautiful settings in the West.

Despite our growth, our core mission is the same. Our slogan this year says it all: "1200 riders. 7 major parties. 0 attitude."

Some highlights of Elevation 2005 will be CLIFFHANGER, the biggest party we've ever thrown, with world-renowned DJ MANNY LEHMAN. Manny is a resident at ROXY NYC, Crobar Chicago, Space Miami, and has spun every major party in the world, including Montreal's Black & Blue (most recently the B&B 2004 Recovery Party), Gay Day's Stars Party, White Party Miami & Palm Springs, and every other giant event you can name.

Another highlight will be THE PARTY AT 10,000 FEET, with DJ Brett Henrichsen. Take a night-time ride in the gondola up the dark mountainside to our first mountain-top tea dance. The entire mountain will be ours.

And of course, our signature apres-ski events, with DJ Scotty K. Beers, boys, boarders and babes will all converge on Lakanuki, the absolute best apres-ski bar in the Village.

A new partner on the Elevation team is this year's presenting sponsor
ClearChannel Los Angeles. They are taking us to the next level in terms of
production value and media outreach.

This is a weekend about serious fun, new and old friends, and a community coming together. So, in the spirit of Elevation, a tip for the weekend: Be friendly. Introduce yourself. This is the kind of weekend where everyone loses the attitude. No judgement, no pretension, no waiting around to see if he talks to you first. The guy you meet one night will be the friend with whom you tear down Cornice the next day.

And most importantly, have fun. That’s the reason we do this.

If you haven't been to Mammoth in the past year and a half, it is a whole new place. The Village at Mammoth continues to grow, and Mammoth has been transformed from a world class mountain with second rate nightlife and amenities to a new Whistler style resort, with shops, condos, bars, restaurants and a new high speed gondola taking you directly onto the mountain from the Village. This is in addition to all the lift and grooming upgrades Mammoth Mountain has undertaken over the last 6 years.

"Mammoth fires on all cylinders: It's huge, the snow is abundant, the season is long, the terrain park is simply the best on the planet - and the natural terrain park that is the rest of the mountain kicks butt, too."
Ski Magazine - October 2003

Elevation 2005 will be centered in the Village at Mammoth, with many of our activities taking place here and of course, on the mountain. Last year, we sold out of weekend passes almost two months before the event, and we had to turn people away from a couple of the most popular events. So make sure you get your tickets early.

Event tickets will be on sale soon in the tickets section. Get them now to make sure that you will be a part of the biggest gay event that Mammoth has ever seen. You can also register by clicking here to receive Elevation updates via email.

Elevation has host properties with rooms blocked off for Elevation. Go to our lodging section and make sure that you use the Elevation name when you make reservations. Benefits will include the Elevation gift bag, and more.

Elevation is very excited to have Fuse Events return as part of the Elevation team. All of our events will be open to everyone, but there will be a couple of special VIP Girl events happening during the weekend. For more specific information on special girl events, go to www.fuse-events.com.
